Why the Breiner-Briner-Bryner NewsLetter?

A news letter to permanently record a collection of records, stories, and events about a certain branch of the family Breiner, Briner, and/or Bryner.

In January of 1995 it occurred to me, Clifton F. Briner, Sr., that the many hours that I spent in court houses, cemeteries and local library branches would be lost forever if I did not document the information in some permanent way that would reach other interested parties. As it was, information was shared with other researchers by ordinary postal means. Progress was slow. The Internet was just getting started in the field of family genealogy. Personal Computer were just beginning to be a major aid in communications, etc.

A good friend, fellow associate and also a family researcher, James W. Bryner, then of Toulon, Illinois, stated that my efforts and information should not be lost to future researchers. As a result of this thinking, the "Breiner/Briner/Bryner NewsLetter" was created to be a vehicle for preserving the historical information about our family. Initially, it was planned that the size and frequency of publication would depend on future interest. The first issue was four pages long. Later issues were as much 24 to 28 pages in length. The initial circulation was sent to about twenty people. One hundred and ten people obtained the seventeenth issue.
